Nicollet Middle School Chess Club
Our 8th grade team won 1st place with multiple hardware winners – Harrison Stage (3rd), Rynaldo Mejia (4th), Winston Ekstrand (5th) and Gavin Allen-Wetterlin.
The 7th grade team made up of John Blomer (1st), Isabelle Burtnett and Thomas Pritchard won 1st place for Nicollet.
Our 6th grade team included Emery Gehrke (5th place) and Luna Tiongson.
Camp Championship members from Nicollet were John Blomer, Harrison Stage & Emery Gehrke.
John Blomer won 2nd place in the Camp Championship.
Rynaldo Mejia won 3rd place in the Kick-Off Open K-9 section.

Several Nicollet Knights chess members received awards at the May Open and Tournament of Champions on May 15th.
John Blomer got the 12th place award and Connor Joseph got the 11th place award in the Tournament of Champions!
In the May Open, Jake Schoenbauer captured first overall by going undefeated!
Also winning awards were Mason and Spencer Pederson, Rynaldo Mejia and Harrison Stage.
